This one-off, multiple cyanotype captures all the little details of the coast at Rye Harbour in Sussex. Cyanotype printing is the oldest historical photographic technique. In this case Peter has contact printed from a negative, by laying a negative directly onto watercolour paper, which has been coated with cyanotype solution. The paper is then placed in sunlight and washed in water to reveal the image. This would make a great gift or momento of Rye Harbour with all its gritty eccentricity.
